Terahertz Generators and Detectors:
Electro-Optic DAST Crystals

DAST: 4-N,N-dimethylamino-4’-N’-methyl-stilbazolium tosylate

High quality DAST crystals Organic crystals polished, coated and mounted for optical applications
Example of an as-grown DAST crystal and organic crystals polished, coated and mounted for optical applications. DAST and other high-quality organic crystals are produced and optically prepared in the facilities of Rainbow Photonics in Switzerland.

  • Large nonlinear optical susceptibilities (d11 > 1000 pm/V)
  • Large electro-optic coefficients (r11 = 92 pm/V)
